You're in Nottingham... have you posted any pictures of your car in the showroom section? If not, what colour is it, definitely very rare to see an S80 in T6 form. I'll keep an eye out.

It's black (metallic I think but even normal black was a £250 extra!). It has 18" Capella Alloys too - which look fab and it's well specced. I'll take some pictures tomorrow!

I bought mine about 3 years ago, and straight away got it tuned. It had 97,000 on the clock when I got it and now has 154,000. I tuned it with a RICA 320 PPC, and had before and after dynos.... It went from 262 bhp to 301 BHP and 450 nm. Now I am not light footed and do a lot of overtaking on a roads due to my commute, and so far so good touch wood. Yeah they may have a rep for being made of choclate, I know a lot of people say that, I just wanted to clear up that its not always the case. And just in case anyone is intrested.... http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=59039

Mine isn't tuned but whenever I do Nottingham to London and back again I smile the entire duration in my super lovely cruiser! Hope it stays trouble free and that the gearbox turns out to be a little more resilient than chocolate after all!

I did have the gearbox oil changed last year. It didnt really looked like it needed it but did it anyway.... As they say a stich in time....
I think most people on here would recommend it.

How much should I expect a gearbox oil change to cost?

I have mine done annually on all of my cars. I get the oil Catrol Dexron III from halfords for circa £7 p/ltr. Then pay labour. What I will say in your case is, get the right oil, in the right quantity from FRF Volvo or MRG Volvo (in our traders section!) and just put it in the boot.
My S70R is going to MRG Volvo in Chippenham in 2 weeks so having it done there on this occasion for a full gearbox oil change. You can either have a part drain & fill (which is what I do every interim service) or a full drain and fill. I can recommend you 2 garages in Nottingham; AJC Auto repairs 0115 9490991. (The place looks crap but the 2 guys are great and I have been using them all the time even for some complex stuff on the Supra TT for over 10+ years without ever an issue!). The labour is VERY cheap and the job is done right and honestly. (If you call them, just say Dave with the C70 T5 and S70R sent you ) Also DPA Volvo (independent) in Baford. They charge £65+vat p/hour labour (ouch). Whilst Dave Pengalley is a great man himself, some of his spanner monkey's are not that great from my experience having used the garage for over 6 years. Whilst they know Volvo's I was not impressed with their workmanship on my C70 T5 (in general) but when they did my ATF I was not impressed. First they put in too little - then too much..... (Charged me £11 + a few quid for my part ATF fluid change). Now whilst I will not slag off DPA Volvo, I would say you will be OK there but, just check upon collecting the car the ATF fluid is at the correct level from 'cold' and then after getting the car warmed up, ensure its at the correct 'hot' level, using the correct method of checking the ATF fluid level. DPA is just getting very busy now due to their good reputation and this is probably why the work can slip but, they know Volvo's and will always see you right. In short, get your oil from FRF Volvo or MRG Volvo (in our traders section) and in my opinion and experience allow AJC to do the job for you.

Rufe @ FRF Volvo http://www.frfvolvo.co.uk/mo-volvo-parts.asp or MRG Volvo http://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=59378 for your ATF oil. They will supply you the correct oil for your application no messing and its the most hassle free and also an economic way of obtaining the right product at a good price. AJC is located on Osmaston Street (off Derby Road) in Stapleford next to Balfour Beaty. As I said, look beyond the appearance of the garage and just evaluate the service/quality of work and price
