Talking to myself here.......(I mean I'm replying to my own message!)
I've found the"L" shaped drain tube & YES it's full of sh**. I've cleaned it out & will see if this cures my problem. The tube is just to the right of centre as you look under the bonnet, next to where one of the heater hoses goes through the bulkhead. |

RE: 440 Airco
Okay things just got a bit intersting.
The reason I could not find this l-shaped tube is because someone has removed it from my car, just leaving the plastic tube sticking through bulkhead. Do I actually need this tube, or is it okay with the plastic bit sticking out? Stu Also I am guessing that I should try to clean inside this tube, and that it goes straight into the airco system? Note: Bloody useless airco people in Holland. Just called 6 or 7 places and got the same result each time. Yes we do cars, no we will not deal with you. I have to take it to a garage, who then arrange with these people to come and look at the airo and have to pay both of them for the trouble. Stuff that, I'll wait until visiting Leicester at christmas and get someone there to look at it. God, some things over here really do suck! In my last company we made a list of Dutch oxymoron's - the main one being 'Ducth Customer Service', followed by 'Ducth Driving Skills' |

RE: 440 Airco
I think that the "L" tube is probably there to stop road spray being thrown into the open drain tube. When I cleaned mine out, I also pushed a SOFT plastic tube up the open pipe & cleared a lot more ssh** out of there(I used soft tubing in case there was anything fragile further in!). No more wet floor so far, but no long drives either.
