If the wiggler can detect a variation in the engine while doing this, then it is probable that the plug gap is a bit wide, and needs a 'hotter" spark than is availble. Closing the gap slightly should provide a better optimised spark from the available pulse.
That makes sense, but with the engine turned off??

If the "slight wiggle" test actually works, it indicates that the plug lead is not making good contact with the end of the plug, and should be sorted...
(pull boot back up cable if poss, then close the contact slightly)(if it's a moulded-on-to-the-cable boot, you can still do it by squeezing the boot in the right place with pliers(use a torch to see which way round the contact is first))

This isn't meant to sound rude or sexist, but have you tried squeezing your neighbour??
I suspect that you'll find he's full of prune juice!

About the only thing you'll find with the engine off is if the lead is still attached both ends!

Shucks you guys! You make me giggle! Haven't seen him today, but he's sitting with me while I drive to Lichfield to pick up the new spark plugs tomorrow! Ho hum!
