Have to agree, I like the new badge and the car does look better with chrome .
Pity the car is generally rubbish though! My month old 2.0D SE is not proving itself popular in my househols doe to shoddy build, poor quality and annoying failures! |

My 2009 V70 2.4d se manual which we've had for over a year has been squeak and rattle free. The only problems we've had is the ridiculous fuel consumption and the PDF light, which are probably linked. Were still only getting 27mpg around town. If anyone is interested the Mocha Brown and Beige interior is holding up well to the abuse of two young kids and a mental Border Collie. Cheers Brian. |

27mpg in town is not bad...... I get slightly less in my XC60 D5 auto. Wife's S40 2.0D Powershift gets around 36mpg in town.

The chrome surround does make the car look more expensive - more upmarket you could say

For what it's worth, I've had my V70 D5 manual for almost a year now and clocked up 36,000 miles and I can honestly say that I'm still very pleased with it. I've had none of the issues some of you have had other than the tailgate lock rattling and needing a bit more grease. It's a pleasure to drive and to spend many hours in.
Okay, so the fuel consumption may not be great but I'm getting around the 40mpg mark on average so I'm happy enough with that. I've not had anything go wrong yet and the original tyres are still legal! As br1anuk says, the mocha interior holds up well and looks classy. It's amazing how many people I have driven believe this is such a good car - two of whom have told me they will be ordering one themselves when they next replace theirs. Some of the extra features are definitely worth paying for: the rear stereo control/headphone sockets and the rear armrest (don't know why it isn't standard but only cost about £60 more and makes a big difference to those in the back). The chrome on the lux models does look good, I admit but I'm not too bothered. Sometimes you have to put a price limit on things and I didn't want to spend more for chrome and leather seats - (I've had leather seats before and I'm really not too fussed about them). |
