Finally - I can now connect with Wi-Fi.
Download took 2 hours and the update was free. I was connected within 30 secs using my MiFi. Happy bunny now. tem.

Phew, thank heavens for that - he who persists...............
Think you'll find Wifi option much better and faster than buetooth for internet-related applications.

I lost this function when android updated to 4.4.4. Looks like Volvo are catching up. Even happier. tem.

Good for you.
Not changed in that respect for me as I still can't read texts even with the update. Wonder if your Wifi addition included the latest bluetooth update as well, given you've had to wait a while to get yours done? Think I'll just wait my first service to see if I get upgraded compatibility with 4.4.4

Should brand new cars fresh out of the factory come with all the latest software, or can it be a bit out of date ?

In theory yes but they only test compatibility of some smartphones when manufacturers provide them.
If there is a subsequent software upgrade to the phone then there is a chance you might lose some functionality. For instance my model of Sony smartphone was tested by Volvo in Feb 2014 for functionality (according to their website). When I got my car all worked but when I did an android update I lost the ability to read my text messages. This still hasn't been resolved and guess I will have to wait until Volvo are provided with latest updates from Sony. I believe that's how it works but stand to be corrected. NB - There is [was] a link I had saved that directed you to compatible phones for sensus only this appears to have been moved (or the page name has been changed) - so if anyone knows maybe they can post the link.

Got an email from Volvo today telling me hthat I am eligible for a free update the the 2015 software with all the new apps and that it would be installed during my next service
Methinks that marketing hasn't checked what has and hasn't been available for a long time

The more people that have it the better, then we might be able to start using Park and Pay properly (like being able to use the Pay bit!)
