Just had the 2 Cross Climates fitted at ATS.
As per recommendation I asked them to put the rear wheels on the front and the new tyres on the back. "If we do that sir we will have to strip the tyres as you have TPMS and that will cost extra" "Why is that" I asked "There are sensors which may not work if we just move the wheels and tyres and the TPMS will not work correctly" "Really?" "yes" I tried to keep a straight face and insisted that they move the wheel and tyre as a unit. |

Had the Hunter Alignment done and just some small adjustment needed on rear camber. So I am resigned to the fact that the rears on the FWD, as all they do is brake, are likely to saw tooth again. The Cross climates as compared to the Wranglers have a less block configerated tread pattern so it may help.
Rotating rear to front will also help even the wear over the life of the tyres. Other forums have identified the issue which while not a safety issue does make the rear tyres noisy like a bearing drone as the tyres wear. For the moment however I am finding the Michelin Cross Climates very responsive and currently very quiet. Time will tell of course. |
