Got me home so the next job was to clean all the fuse mounts and replace a few that were discoloured so all is well now.

Thanks for your comments. Given that finding small pots is tricky, I'm tempted to order some myself.

Just came across this product
Contralube 770, might this work? It says it's a gel. I cannot find the ingredients on the web, appears to be used by sailors too.
Anyone got any experience of this product or advice?
