Dads just bought a 09 plate t6 awd last week, got it from next to London and drove it up to Glasgow no problem. I had a look at it and seen the rubber for the top engine mount had split and a leak from the rocker cover area. Dont think this would be a common fault tho.
Another problem, your going to go from around 53mpg to around 28mph, but as you says you dont do the miles so wont bother you much. Lovely cars tho ![]() |

Haha I wish I got 53 mpg! With the 185 D5 you are lucky to get 30 mpg around town and 35 max on a run! But to be fair it is on the thick end of a 2 tonne car. Also thanks for the advice on the belts and tensioner, yes the car would be a keeper for a few years. Any idea on the schedule for the belts though? |

A V70 T6 does not have a cam belt ,they have a gear drive and chain drive.
I have had not have any problems with my T6 , and looking at the US sites there does not appear to be any major problems. The T6 is £500 a year to tax and does only around 21 -23 mpg ,a it more on a run. It does go well especially in sport mode, my only problem is I like the go so it uses a lot of fuel. Like any car check all the normal things. Roger. |

The T6 is a very specialised engine with some unique engineering features , There is no cam belt , It won't be an engine you take to a local garage for repairs or servicing if you have any sense ! so if you do get a problem it is going to cost a lot to fix , less than German cars with similar complexity though .

I purchased a 2009 59 plated T6 AWD 3 months ago, it's Ex Cambridgeshire ANPR Police Car in Magic Blue now with 162000 Miles on clock and now done in 3 months over 12000 yes 12000 miles in it running as a Chauffeurs car on my Company fleet.
Absolutely fab car, returns 32 to 36 mpg and the customers love it. Also the bonus its been looked after and ive added tinted Windows, r design goodies ect. Within 6 months it'll paid itself off on my fleet and it'll owe me nothing. I'd recommend T6 if you don't mind Petrol cars. |

Reasuuring feedback and comments there. Especially the ex police car mileage!
Just one more question.. On paper the interior space is pretty similar to the XC90... Cargo Capacity XC90 530 litres V70 575 litres Leg Room Rear XC90 879 mm V70 880 mm Hip Room Rear XC90 1374mm V70 1400mm Now we had a trip down to the west country earlier last month and we had 2 child car seats and an adult in the rear. All seemed reasonbly comfortable in the back. Given the above "hip room rear" is on paper 26mm wider it should have slightly more room! I have looked around a V70 and the interior did seem spacious. Has anyone got any feedback on the XC90 vs V70 interior space? Cheers! |

I can't say about the XC90 but I've had my brother, his missus and 2 lads in my car with me. Both lads were in child seats and because of the side bolsters on the rear seats, it does push them inward. Luckilg his missus is extremely small so she could fit between the seats. It would probably be ok for a few hours but would probably be quite cramped for any longer.

But what Volvo claim on paper as the cargo capacity is 530 litres for the XC90 and 575 litres for the V70. Is that true? Or is real world capacity more cavernous for the XC90? Well to be fair the XC90 (touch wood) has not let us down. It does feel dated compared to other marques but its strong and strudy. We don't tow at all, no use for the seven seats anymore and don't really do the mileage any more for the D5. |
