Thanks! I was very chuffed. The colour is deceptive because the jar was already dirty. Regardless I'll do another brake-fluid flush next spring to make sure it's all gourmet.

Never remove the motor for this, the other thing that can easily snap is the delicate plastic lugs on the motor housing.

Always use a 9v PP3 battery. It doesn’t push out enough juice to ever cause any damage. Cost of this approach is less than any other, and 100% reliable.

I would discourage removing the motor unless you are experienced at it - if the motor armature is not exactly aligned to the driveshaft in the caliper you will snap the lugs off the motor as it is tightened.

I'll be doing the rear brakes on my dad's S60 soon; using a battery!

I'm not sure what you mean because mating the 2 together was very simple; removing the bolts was the drama.

I changed the rear discs (plus pads) last week as the discs were down to minimum thickness. What a difference - brakes much more effective. Genuine discs and pads fitted.

YES! I've had to adjust my braking now that the pads have bedded in; it bites hard. I wonder where difference there is between your OEM and my "Brembo".
