An idea for anyone who wants wider steel wheels but isn't so keen on the style, how about fitting a set of full size volvo wheel trims ? The car would look better from the front and rear due to the extra width but look standard from the sides.
Thats what I have done on mine and most people wouldn't notice it was anything but standard.

Thumbs up

They look like Weller eight spokes to me, a popular wheel a few years back.
With the good tyres, i don't think you're far off asking £200 for them, they should sell.

Doh! Well, I've deceided that in black (sorry) they would look the dogs on my car - with or without centre caps I'm not sure, and I had almost convinced myself to spend the ££...

But.. Peterborough is a way to travel for wheels, especially with the prices at the tax station lately! Unless anyone wants to give me some free used veg oil in brum area??

Not just that, but really they need taller tyres than those - those would look lost on a car that wasn't very much lowered (more than the usual 40mm) and they will also put the speedo out about 10-15% ish.

Taking that all into account, £200 for wheels + £50 Tax (fuel) + £100 taller tyres is far more than I can spend at the moment.

Why would they make the speedo out?

Ahh but see you can get the wheels... and then buy the tyres later muahaha lol

If its any help my post code is PE2 8QE. Its like 3/4 miles from the A1

Halesowen is 97 miles from my house. Round it up to a 100 and its a 200 mile round trip. Averaging 27mpg since you've been fiddling with the pump thats 7.4 gallons used. Or 33.5 litres.

Whats diesel 1.30 a litre? £43. See i saved u £7 already

Because the rolling circumference of the wheel is less than the rolling circumference of the standard 195/65/15 tyres. Which also means the gearing will be out - i.e. it will be even lower geared - nice and torquey and responsive, but will drink even more fuel and be revving higher on the motorway.

Diesel for £1.30/ltr? Cheapest I can get is £1.39/ltr! Or 90p/ltr from JJ Foods (shhh...)

Didn't you have to buy some of those expensive spacers though to do that? I would be more than happy with some 16" black steelies...even better some banded steelies!
