There is a sensor on the drivers buckle to detect if you are wearing the seatbelt of not. There isn't one on the passenger's side.
Both front seatbelts have pre-tensioners inside the seatbelt mechanism in the B-pillar

Well good news, i consulted with a guy that owns a performance shop not too far from me, he also consults volvo garages with a lot of their diagnostic stuff, he told me that all SIPS airbags are standard and its only a matter of resetting the airbag light, and of course he has the tools to do it.
PLUS hes the boss of my friend so he'll do it for free!
