It's not as bad as you might think. The filter can definitely be changed with everything in situ . There is another filter on the pump and for that on Gen 3 the pump must be removed an in order to do that the prop has to be dropped at rear and flange removed. If doing that you may as well fit a new flange oil seal as they are cheap and it's a no brainer not to do it. It's very straightforward. The exhaust does not need to be dropped to drop theprop on an XC90.

The pressure switch and solinoid units in the DEM are both ABOVE the lowest level of the haldex unit, so you need to suck out the fluid, as it won;t all drain. Cheers Bob |
