I took delivery of a T3 XC40 Auto last month, replacing my T4 XC60. The T3 doesnt have the outright power of the T4, but what a cracking little engine it is! More than enough power for my needs, and handles motorways fine. Dead easy to get the MPG into the 40's on a run, has an interesting engine note that doesnt sound like a hairdryer like some other 3 cylinder cars (Fiat 500 Im looking at you!), and it drives like an eager whippet I couldnt be happier with it.

Greetings!
Maybe someone here can help me with a question. Geely Azkarra 4wd SUV seems to carry the 3T (or the engineering) VOLVO engine. Yes, its a chinese car from the owners of Volvo right now. This 3T engine is reliable? How many kilometers you owners have? is 3T enough to support 1.8 tons of weight? Geely Azkarra has 187hp & 300nM (at 1700 rpm) and its attached to a mild hybrid 48 volts engine. 7 DCT Transmission. My concern is about the reliability & capacity. Should I wait for a 4 cylinder engine? Whatbare the advantages & disadvantages? |

I suspect you won't get much help on this engine here- the EU-market 3-cyl mild-hybrid on XC40 (B3) is a 163hp unit - so not the same as the one on the Geely you are looking at.. The transmission is the same Volvo 7-DCT unit though.

Thank you for your response. The related engine is The B3154T5 (BB) delivers 180 PS (132 kW; 178 hp) at 5800 rpm and 265 N⋅m (195 lb⋅ft) of torque between 1500–3000 rpm. The front electric motor (EFAD) delivers 82 PS (60 kW; 81 hp) and 160 N⋅m (120 lb⋅ft) of torque. Single turbocharger.
Battery capacity is 9.7 kWh. This engine is only available with the 7DCTH[71] gearbox. Emissions level Euro 6d. Applications: 2020–present Volvo XC40 badged as XC40 T5 Twin Engine |

Not the same engine- as your quote says the B3154T5 is only used on XC40 TwinEngine. Your car is a mild hybrid, and has a belt-driven 48V starter-generator, the T5 TwinEngine has an electric motor connected to the transmission directly.
