[QUOTE
My only niggle in our short relationship is the power tailgate. Quiet, but slow, and switching it to manual operation makes it feel very heavy as you overcome the motor resistance (oh and being 6'5" tall it doesn't open quiet high enough for my liking !!).[/QUOTE]

Can you please explain how to change it to manual, I've mentioned a few times on this forum that I wanted to be able to change to manual when camping so as not to wake the neighbours.

I might find that its quiet enough to use but I would like to ffind out how successful the manual option is.

thanks

Don't forget the interior too.

Hi Teejay. Reading through the manual last night it states that you press the rubber pressure pad on the tailgate once. This starts the door opening. Press it a second time and it disengages the motor and you can open it manually. I tried it for real and it works...although it feels awkward. As you try and open it manually you are working against the motor which whirrs to keep up. Didn't feel very mechanically sympathetic to me.

So now I just press the button on the key fob on the walk to the car and watch it open up like a scene from Thunderbirds !!

Will get some photos done this weekend and have a go at posting....but bear with me as I'm IT illiterate !!

D3 Engine appears to be a lovely sweet engine, very quiet and smooth and linked to the geartronic gearbox the changes are imperceptible and very smooth.

I hope I won't regret it now that I ordered the petrol version, diesel engine noise
was the main factor to consider when I placed my order.

The D3 engine is whisper silent and as I come from a petrol engined car I now know the diesel noise is not a problem. The engine appears to have masses of torque at low revs and pulls really well.
