Let us know how it works out.
Don't get taken in by people that say a 55w bulb has the output of a 100w as they are away with the fairies. Also I have heard that night breakers don't last as long so you might want to get Volvo to turn off the "always on lights"

Which HID kit did you go for? Did you fit it yourself?

I fitted Nightbreakers to an S40 4 yrs ago. They both lasted 4 months and so I complained to Osram. They sent replacements, didn't last either, and Osram confirmed that they are not up to the job of being on permanently. I believe the Philips bulbs last longer but you may be luckier with your car.
Incidentally, I found they did not make much of a difference. I think the housing of the car is just not great at reflecting the light out.

i have the osram night breaker plus and they have been on the car for a year now and they are very good. if you want to buy them cheap go to euro car parts as they are selling them for 17.99, i have just bought 2 pair with the discount (parts25 as the discount is available on purchase over 19.99) for my wife's car(you never know when you need them so i have a spare in my car)for just over 26 pounds.

Had nightbreaker plus in mine, one just gone though, think it lasted about a year. Just had to pay a ford dealer a tenner for a standard bulb in order to be legal.

Osram state that they last 50% longer then the original ones so will see how they last? I have ordered mtec's for the fogs at the moment but will get some H9's as suggested, and adapt to fit and try and compare? will report my findings in due course. I have also read somewhere that aftermarket HID kits will fail mot's, something to do with not self leveling or something like that?
