My Merc 307D OM616 2.4 camper didn't have a turbo. I'm assuming that when these models finally morphed into the 'Sprinter' that they got a turbo, hence the name! At 3.5 tonnes laden and 65 bhp or so it was a very slow old beast but I loved it to bits. My engine reached 237,000 and was still very strong but the body fell to bits around it - RIP rustbucket!

This also confused me. I just bought an S40. Only a 1.6D and had no idea if it had a turbo. Had a look and it appeared to but none of my paperwork mentions it, neither did my insurance company.
