Question

There already is a National Volvo Show/Meet held every year by the Volvo Owners Club, it is called the 'National BKV', and is held over a weekend during the summer months it has been taking place at various locations in England for a lot of years.
All models are represented including modified, and trade stands/autojumble areas are included.
Is there a reason to organise another 'National', when more members could simply turn up and support the 'VOC National BKV' ???????

Yes, for the simple reason that some of us don't feel at all welcomed by the VOC.

Not all of the forum members are VOC members and therefore couldn't show their cars, also not all VOC members treat their cars as show and shine vehicles. I know mine is a working car doing 30k pa and while it gets maintained religiously with genuine parts it rarely gets washed let alone polished. For this very reason I think a National Volvo meet would be a great idea.

Exactly, whether we are performance and modded or original spit and polish, it is always great to get together and just look at the cars and talk to like minded people without all the formality of a club "Best Kept Volvo" competition.

There is plenty room in the calendar for both events.
