Problem is that unless you have the kiddie seat head protection at the lowest point it's being thrown forward about 4-5 cm more than it would be if the headrest was not there or set higher.

Seems a basic design error to me that these can be removed or pulled up higher.
Crikey, I get the idea, thanks for that pic. I guess I will just have to make them fit the best I can, provided they are plugged into the Isofix & tethered, the Britax site suggests that my Duo Plus seats do fit the XC90 - we'll see - I guess all kids seat shapes are different.

Thanks again for taking the time to take the pic.

I think the head rests are part of the safety system so cannot be removed. I think Volvo prefer children to travel facing backwards in the seats they make until they are old enough to use the booster seats. They say children are much safer traveling facing backwards.
Roy is correct. Children in Sweden stay rear facing until, at least, 4-5 years old because it is far safer.

Some photos attached. Savile Grey, Chestnut leather/offblack.

Options: parking heater timer (heater is standard over here), running boards (the garage put one rubber on the wrong way around DOH!, front parking assist and removable tow-bar).

Car is lovely to drive and feels quite different from my friend's MY10 185bhp model. Can be the extra horses, also it has lower-profile tyres which probably alters the handling a bit.

I was amazed at now effective and useful the BLIS is.

I have a couple of stupid questions:

- Runnings lights: I was under the impression that during daytime the sidelights would be on, in fact I have dipped-beam on all the time. Is that normal?
- Electric windows: is it normal that they can't be closed when the ignition is just turned off? Very annoying when you've stopped the car and then remembered you have to close the window...
- Middle row headrests: can't these be removed? they're quite in the way of our isofix kiddie seats

Cheers
Dave

On your remote locking key, if you hold the Lock button for a few seconds it might close the windows? I know the past two Volvo's i have had done this.

There is a setting on the computer inside that has to be checked for it to work.

Similarly, holding the Unlock button will open all the windows.
