Decided to go ahead and fit mudflaps to the rear last weekend, £28.00 + VAT from the dealer, by using a hex drive in a small socket they can be fitted without removing the rear wheels, max 10 min job, again saved the dealer price for fitting of £47.00 + VAT !

Do they help in keeping the rear of your car cleaner?

I have already the front mudflaps and I have to admit they work very well but I have no idea whether the rear ones give any effect. There is not much of the car behind the rear mudflaps but I could imagine they prevent spraying dirty water over the tailgate.

Any positive experience?

Part numbers Front? 30779759 Rear? 30779760 (or vice versa as invoice doesn’t state which is which) list price £28.55 plus vat each pair and dead easy to fit, no need for extra drilling and I think they will keep spray from swirling up on to the rear window a fair bit .They make the back end look better in my view more elongated and complete rather than that chopped look but that’s only personal.

The link to instructions on an earlier post indicate you need to drill holes - is this required? Also where is best place to buy the mudflaps re price

I fitted both front and rear mud flaps. Very simple job, took me about 45 minutes. Although they supply screws, they are identical to those you have to remove to fit the flaps, which are inserted back into the same holes.

Yes, you do have to drill holes for one extra screw at the base of each flap. It is only a pilot hole into plastic, not into steel.

Just bought mud flaps from this guy (front and back) for £33.00 (total) (free delivery). E-bay feed back is good, so fingers crossed!

How rigid are these Ebay ones? They describe them as semi-rigid (a bit open) and the offical Volvo are described as soft.

I am concerned that semi-rigid could break - especially when they get cold - but the price differential is attractive

Thanks
