Maybe someone with more knowledge will come along soon, however as I understand it for a P2 petrol you can use a cheap Bluetooth OBD2 adapter along with an app like Torque to do some diagnostics and reset some lights. Alternatively you can use a clone of the Volvo DICE diagnostics hardware along with Volvo VIDA software.

So, I tried with few different OBD diagnostics apps and it read the RPM, and that stuff of the car. Never had any light to reset so I'm not sure if that works. |

VIDA-DICE is usually the way to go for P2. The cheap universal cable/bluetooth dongle should work as well for basic stuff, such as reading the diagnostic values and resetting a check engine light. Don't expect anything more advanced like airbags, climate control, DRL and seat heater settings, etc.

I had an issue with my full beam switch and also my cruise control buttons which I later found out. To remove this unit meant taking off the steering wheel and subsequently the airbag. I removed the battery terminal but I wanted to test the switch so connected the battery without thinking that the airbag wasn't attached and this threw up the fault code.
