Northern Ireland is not, and never has been, part of Great Britain. If you don't know that I suggest you brush up on your constitutional history.

Hint: it's the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland! Have a look at the cover of your passport.

There is an idea, a political one, which I've only ever heard mentioned within my wife's family, or maybe by my wife talking about her family, who are all Irish. The idea is that some in the Island of Ireland think of that land-mass as West Britain. Has anybody else come across such an understanding.

BTW, the eye-catching gold and brown, is not to my taste but I can see why it would be to some.
