I have never had 3 years Volvo Assistance included, with the 5 Volvo's that I have owned.
Was it some limited special offer?

I honestly don't know as I don't recall seeing it on the documentation when I purchased the car (and it doesnt appear as a costed extra). I do know that when I asked the dealer what it was about when the first registration certificate for it came through he said, "Don't worry about it, you will get it as long as you get your car serviced by us".

Whether that means that Squire Furneaux are paying for it, whether it was part of a very good deal I was given (the car industry was in the doldrums then and Volvo were supporting the dealers very heavily to shift cars), or a standard Volvo offer I dont know - what I do know is that I have it

Yes it was a special offer when I got mine in September 2010, along with a 3 year warranty.
My second FREE service is due now.

I got my XC60 in December 2008, no offers on then.
The model was relatively new.
