That's brilliant, thanks Iain.
I don't store the van at home so can't easily check myself, but you've backed up what I suspected. I'll double-check this weekend, but think that I'm going to need two leads with a standard aerial connection at one end and a satellite (f-connector) at the other; shall probably try Screwfix or eBay to get a 10m lead for outside. |

The ones they sell on Caravan Club Sites , which is where mine came from many moons ago, is about 20 m long.
As I said I fitted the adapters to both sat sockets in the battery box and in the van as the cables come with standard aerial sockets both ends.

You can buy small adapters that convert a satellite screw connector to a plug tv arial connector. Best to buy two as you may need one for either end one for the caravan input usually in the battery box and the other for the output wher you plug in the tv inside the van.
Our local diy shop has them in packs for about £2.

Well, managed to get out to the 'van today and was pleasantly surprised - Elddis have already fitted a standard RF connector to the satellite input in the locker, so that's the first side of it sorted.
Took a look in a drawer and found a fly lead that has screw-on F-type connectors over standard RF connectors, so that's the inside sorted as well! Just need to sort out a length of cable now. I've probably got some in the garage somewhere but, for the sake of £5-10, I think that it's probably worth buying a 20m length with factory-fitted connectors already on it. |
