Try this instead :

Go to postimages.org and sign up for a free account.

Upload your images to it.

Find the image you want to put in your post and click the Share icon (like a wishbone) above it.

You'll get about a dozen links appear - find the one that says "Hotlink for forums". Look to the right and there's a blue button at the end of the link. Click it.

Now return to your post, click where you want the image to be then right click and paste.
Hit Enter/Return twice on the keyboard to put a line between that image and the following text or image.

Repeat for the other images you want to add.

Site admin will like this solution as you're not using forum space to add your images to the forum but an external (often called "Third Party") host. It also means if you want to post those images on other fora or send via email (using the "Link" option works well for me for email) you have an easy "one stop shop" for all your images.

You can also create albums so you can keep your Volvo stuff in one, other hobby stuff in another, pet photos in a third and so on.

Hi again,

Anyone used company called autotronics for instrument cluster repairs?

https://www.autotronics.co.uk

I’m tempted to send my instrument panel to these guys.

What do you guys think?
Thanks
Steve

I'd clean all the contacts in the plugs that go on the back of the cluster first - use fine emery paper. Also you'll see the contacts are "(" shaped, use a thin screwdriver or similar to tease them out to give them more of a curve. Also clean the PCB contacts on the cluster where they mate, refit and see what you've got.

I can see a possible fault on the back of the cluster but it would be helpful to know if the speedo behaves itself after driving and having the heater on hottest blowing to the vents.

So maybe cured stuck at 70 mph.
Odometer and trip still stuck too.

Default speedometer odometer

No personal knowledge of this problem, though the car does have a non working temp guage, but have you had a read throgh on the 700/900 FAQ, which has lengthy write ups on both problems above and shows which connections to look at (wish the same applied to the temp)?
Second ask Lakes if they have your instrument panel.

Hi again
Thanks for another quick reply.

Threee things,

1. Confused, My temp gauge works fine
2. Who are Lakes?
3. I’ve looked at a few links in faqs but I’m still not sure which solder joints relate to Speedo and odometer.

As usual any suggestions, explanations for this Volvo novice will be gratefully received.

Cheers

Can you solder? Do you have a solder sucker, 60/40 tin/lead solder and a fine tipped soldering iron?

Hi

I’ve done some simple soldering before but never used a solder sucker!
Simple wire to wire stuff for guitar leads, I’m a music teacher!

What I don’t have I’ll buy + watch YouTube tutorials!

What do I need to try?

: )
