Not very clear and not really fair. Some may suggest a bit misleading?

Maybe sawyer should write back and quote this . although the letter from the dealer's point of view is very honest and frank . it is volvos issue not the dealers who will have to pay for over an hours labour .( the time it takes to do a small service )

Great, I wish I had read this thread again before my car went in for service!

I first read it back in July and was looking forward to the new service to fix a fault where by my iPhone can not play music for more than about 30 seconds when connected to the Bluetooth phone system and also the new Trip Stats

I switch on the car this AM and lo and behold, no Trip Stats so I assume I'm still on the older version!

This is hugely annoying and Im obviously gonna have to call them up as Im not waiting another whole year!!!

Default MPG dropped since service !

I just had the XC60 in for its first service, the receptionist said that the software will be updated if its required, I said I had sensus V3 and she said they will check it while doing the work. When I collected the car I noticed the mirrors were out though the car was locked so I knew it had been changed.

I also noticed that the seat belt alarm was now much quieter and not so instant. The problem is, I'm sure my MPG has dropped quite a lot, could that be possible. I won't be able to tell for sure till I fill it up again and get it out for a proper run.

The usual experience post first service seems to be that the mpg has dropped slightly (not "quite a lot"), perhaps around 2 to 3 mpg. It is presumably something to do with a "running-in" as opposed to a "normal" configuration, but I don't know. MPG should then gradually pick up again as the car gains more mileage up to around 10,000 miles.

Mine dropped by the usual 2 - 3 mpg after the first service, problem is that after 40,000 miles it still hasn't 'loosened up' and given me back the figure that I had when the car was new

Bob.
Sounds like your "upgrade" has put settings back to default - so check in "My Car" settings that the UOM's are correct & it is not recording USA gallons rather than Imperial gallons which will be reflected in an overnight increase in mpg...........

Good idea Simon, I checked and it was still at Imp Gal, the car is doing much better already returning 45 on a country road trip and 39 in the city so its sorting its self out already.

Thanks for the help
