XC60 New Sensus software V3 - Page 21

Anyone else spotted in the Volvo magazine that there are some apparently material upgrades to Sensus available? I left the magazine at home (am at work now) but it seemed to include quite a few upgrades such as internet connectivity (presumably via a mobile phone).

There are a couple of threads about the updated sensus system.
Believe it is available from May onwards and you will need to flash your cash
if you wish the upgrade around £500 is the figure being mentioned at the moment.

Really?! I'll have another look at the brochure - I got the impression it was just a simple system software upgrade, I can't remember seeing anything about a cost along those lines. I'd probably pay a little towards it ... but £500 is a heck of a lot.

I couldn't see any other threads - I'll have another look.

Not too bad considering you need a new 7" TOUCH screen/ICM unit as well as a Sotware upgrade , you might need a 3G Mobile USB dongle too for the internet options .

In comparison with the old UI, this new UI looks a bit clunky. The old UI looks classier imho. Can't argue about the features though.

Clan think you are wrong the screen is the same, it's the surround that's changed using infrared technology which works out where your finger is , that's the reason it's cheaper if you already have the 7 inch screen, prices are on a Swedish Volvo site from what I can remember.

Thanks for that but the reason I showed the Swedish site was that is shows the prices so if you already have the nav screen it's €500 .

Hi

I'm just a brand new owner of a 2nd hand nice XC60 2.4D .
However, I'm very frustrated as after DVD Map update I still have software 0930. After reading all posts here, I understand that it's correct and DVD's will not update the software.

However, here in France, it seems to be the same situation with Sensu update - means all workshop managers don't know how to update it !!!! even they don't know exactly if there is an new version or not - they claim "our computer indicate your car is up to date, so no new revision" ....

Just one question: does the 0930 indicates the soft rev ? what is the latest one ?

About Sensu Touch, I've read on a swiss Volvo magazine, it should be available in May for approx 1300Euro

This whole sensus update issue seems to be causing confusion.

None of the dealers here I spoke to even knew what Sensus was! I had to explain it to all of them. They all said it wasn't part of the Volvo service promise software update.

I've spoken to Volvo who also say it is NOT included, despite the fact the Volvo service promise states "A FREE UPDATE OF THE CAR’S SOFTWARE TO THE LATEST VERSION IS ALWAYS INCLUDED". I tried arguing the point but got nowhere with them, as I said to Volvo - isn't this false advertising? Possibly something for the ASA/trading standards to look at? Don't promise something you can't/won't deliver on.

I've suggested that Volvo revise the wording of the promise or at least caveat it to exclude Sensus.
