Default DIM help needed

I have a 53 plate v70 diesel that has done 144.000 mies. About 3 years ago, I was driving and got some random messages, first saying the back rear door was open when it wasnt, then it said brake failure, when they were fine, then the full dash info disappeared. I sent the unit to clusterrepairs, and about a week later got the unit back. I had to get the airbags message removed, but all seemed fine

About 18 months later I then got exactly the same messages, so contacted clusterrepairs, who repaired the unit under warranty, although they did take a while to send it back. Again all working after the air bags message was deleted.

The unit went again, about 6 month after the warranty expired, so i took the unit to a local computer repair guy, who said that the unit was full of dry joints, so he re-soldered everything he could. Again, all fine after the air bags message removed.

Just as I arrived home today after a round trip of about 200 miles, the dreaded 'back door open' message came on.

Any advice on what to do or what to check? Any help is much appreciated.

There must be a sensor in the boot lock or something, or a wiring fault to it, maybe water getting into it?

Does it go after heavy rain

This loos like it..

The message says that the rear nearside door is open rather that the tailgate. The roads were damp, certainly not wet or heavy rain.

Mine is going crazy, loosing all clocks and backlights intermittantly.

Going to have to have a go at the blue mess and moto chip.

Need a x10 viewer to nail it tho

Got the blue goo off 2 of the 4 big chips.

Used superdrug nail polish remover, has to have some acetone in. Cotton buds.

Levered gently at the pins none moved, so i didnt solder any of them. I will put some lacquer on the now exposed pins.

The power reg is a 5volt type, the output pin of this looked dry, so remade. Will know within a month if this fixed my random clocks.

I lifted one side of the orange led warning lamp to kill it. (Left hand one LED14)

I left the red one alone, so door open etc is red still.

The back lights are blown on mine behind the lcd display on left hand side , so srs message is not displayed.

Feel like a bit of a chav frigging this, but i resent the srs never ending loop.

http://volvodiagnostic.com.

This is Spokoluzik's Web site.

I and many others have used him. I had a 3 day turn around on the repair and cost about £70 plus postage.

Hope this helps.

Default SRS warning and blown bulbs

Reading a couple of post the rear of my usa 2003 xc70 has 3 type of color coded bulbs 4 gray 4 blue and 4 black. ? do they use all the same wattage bulb? I took a gray from the message side to replace a a blue for D,R,N,1,2.

Once I disconnect the negative side of the battery I will start the resolder portion on the chip. DIM 0006 after erase codes.

So tonight I became a V70 D5 owner, 2002 167000 miles, on the way home the dim went scrambled, I know that the car has a clutch switch fault, is this likely to be the chip needing soldering?

If that is the only symptom, it depends how much it bothers you.
Mine has been intermittently garbled then ok for 4 years.
