Did my first geartronic sump dump today... and judging from the colour and smell, it needed it!!!

Took a couple of attempts to get the oil level right after refilling, went for a drive and then was greeted by an TCM-002F error for slipping lockup clutch

Ive cleared the code, i guess time will tell if it just needs to adapt, but the car does drive differently now, it wants to creep more than before, and it also has more engine braking as it seems to want to be in lockup lower than 50mph....

I have not logged in for a while as I bought a house with a 35 foot garage. I am still selling Gloria though and had a message from someone so trying to find the Sales section.

She is behaving at the moment, the little vixen, but I have whipped off her Eudora alloys with the new Pilot Sport 4s on and chucked on the Orpheus alloys with the 'New' pilot sport 4s on...I guess I can get a good price for the Eudoras with new tyres - one with the sticker on 2 days ago as it had an unrepairable puncture.

Decided to buy a brake bleeder nipple to have on hand before I tackle removing the sheared one on my LR caliper.
It came with the car and I've been touching it with penetrants for months.

One online source had 'em for $1.40 each. However, only selecting a 10 pack would allow the ordering process to continue.

One European parts source had 'em for every Volvo ever made except our P2's.
Yet another had none.

A fancier foreign parts shop had genuine Volvo nipples for $8.50 each. Apparently small order shipping subsidizes their free shipping offer.

So I went to the national chain shop which had been years before a Mecca for both stock and built machines.....and they had 80 in the warehouse in Pennsylvania Dutch country but the computer wouldn't let the counterman order any.

My man worked the phone. After 7 minutes he pointed me to another serious shop which was on my way home.

The damn things were 79˘ each. Two were $1.68 with tax.

Sometimes you just gotta laugh.

Well, was driving yesterday and Gloria seemed a bit chesty. Stopped the car and did a few things, got in it and it started, turned over for a few seconds and stopped. Did the same thing second time then was ok. I had had a message earlier stating alarm triggered - check car.

So, will start by checking the battery today, the MAF, coils, spark plugs etc etc...might just eBay the thing for parts....

Today I drove my S60, for the first time in about 6 months after buying a Jeep to tow our caravan. I insured it 2 days ago and taxed it last night and after driving for about half an hour got pulled over and had to explain to South Yorkshire Police that it is taxed and insured, the two officers were really nice so I can’t complain.
I’ve really missed driving it, only covering 1,000 miles since last February when it was MOT’d.

Are you saying that the "main computer" hadn't been updated before the South Yorkies ran your plate?

That happens here too. In my case it was 8 days later. My policeman was nice as well.

I feel for any poor slob entering such data. He's likely in a hole in the ground in Trenton and has no career advancement option but to quit before his brain softens too much.

Yes, not sure who is supposed to update it. Checking online showed my car as untaxed but I could prove it was taxed.
My car will only be taxed for a few months and then we’ll tax the Jeep again to tow the caravan, the officer said when cars are taxed by monthly direct debit the computer takes longer to update than when they’re taxed for a year at once.

My 1999 S80 2.4 petrol hasn't given me a moments trouble in 90,000 miles. I've fed her on a regular diet of engine oil/filter changes and two auto box flushes and she drives very sweetly indeed, with sufficient oomph for my modest needs
