If you cannot find new(Scrapyard -- V40 and old 44 ones fit !!) holders, your local car spares place may have some that you can re solder to the wires, bestow all for LED !

Regards
The bulb holders are attached to the loom and the wires are sealed with some form of glue inside the holders. The loom for the S60 comes with the two bulb holders and the boot lid opening handle pad. All this can be had for £102 from Volvo. Bit steep for two bulb holders, a handle and some wires. Even Hella who make them made them specifically for Volvo, so they can't supply the holders. What I did find out was that the V70 loom comes without the boot lid handle pad, and costs £10 from Volvo. I couldn't believe the difference in price. There's one on the way from the good guys at FRF. I'll cut the holders off the new loom and solder them onto the old loom. I'm still going to stick to 5W bulbs, as the day running lights have been switched off. The bulb holders should last a bit longer with the drl's off.

Why not put leds in. They last a lot longer and you dont have the heat issue

LED's can cause issues with CAN systems, but I'll try them to see what happens. I've used LED's before on my S40 and was very disappointed with them to be honest. Just a case of trying to find good ones.

I did however buy this very loom from Volvo at a cost of £11.50 posted. Skandix wanted €18 postage. Will check out those Cree bulbs. Cheers

Default XC70 Turbo oil leak

Doing my XC70 service oil change and found a large damp oil patch on the engine under shield. Was wondering why oil usage was creeping up !

Looking up between gearbox and transfer box, oil is dripping from the turbo. I suspect its the turbo oil drain "O" ring. I suspect the transfer box will have to come down.
Not yet a mess on the drive, so will let it run for a while and monitor oil usage and the drive.

Car that age and mileage, large oil absorbing sponge on the engine tray.. change annually.
Alrernativly, clean it up and find a nice garage to trade it in.

Cleaned my headlamps today, the plastic had gone translucent and lost transparency. Bought an kit from Amazon. They are about 65% better so may need another go. It was very satisfying to do and looks so much better.

After that I replaced the rear pads and discs. I had a horrible vibration and that was due to a very badly corroded disc. It looked like it had been under the sea! It drives so much better and all for £60! Was quoted near £400 from Volvo. (The car has fsh and I want to preserve that.) Next service due next month.

On a 2001 Camaro I'm selling for a neighbor:

I remedied a heavily tarnished license plate bulb socket.
Brass cleaner, some scraping with a sharp, pointed object and rinse.
I used the dielectric grease which would've prevented the entire problem.
Working light bulbs sell a car.

Cleaned the MAF sensor as it was suggested.

Continued draining detergent laced coolant in order to rid the system of contamination (gumming-up) due to mixing.
