Fitted a new fuel filter to my 2002 s60 D5, very easy to do,
cheshired5 (Thanks Simon)Did a video about these cheap Filters on ebay that the seller was clearing out old stock, so I got some , and cleaning of some surface rust, and spraying some hammerit under cote with waxoil , to keep the car good underneath, past MOT last month after 18months from the last mot, with no advisory's, Thanks Dave |

Fitted new rear Meyle-HD drop links The ones I removed are the same make,
as one I fitted almost 7 years ago 40k miles had a split boot at the base near the spring clip, the old ones still worked well not sloppy and no play, but not as firm as the new ones, but at £10.99 each worth doing, Dave |

Fitted new front drop links, of the 'moog' variety from eurocrapparts.. so we'll see how long they last... (£40 pair)
changed g/box oil for 2nd time (still on same drain plug and washer, will change that and do counter reset on the 3rd refill) put inserts into the front/front subframe bushes. will run them in for a bit and do front/rears another time. If I get any weirdness or clonking it narrows it down.. went in pretty easy.. except. bit random, when I took the bolt out of the drivers side bush i got oil all over me. I'm guessing the car had a previous leak (not losing any fluids currently that im aware of...) and it just collected in the hollow part of bush changed cabin filter. the one I bought went in the back slot and the existing one was in the front slot. back one wouldn't go in.. until I noticed there was a piece of plastic in the way like a spur you get on airfix kit parts. snapped that out, fitted easy. just the inserts, I did check the bushes at the same time though and they looked ok in my less than expert opinion
point to note. I know you're supposed to use new bolts, and I did order a pack, but the ones they sent me all had threads 3/4 of the way. the front two bushes need thread nearly ALL the way, so I had to reuse the old ones and I made sure they got a decent blob of threadlock.. torqued to spec and added a 1/4 turn. The rear ones i think i can use my new bolts.. when I get around to it Last edited by stuart bowes; Feb 20th, 2021 at 18:32. |

Had a fall while out walking. Afternoon in A&E, broken elbow and need an MR arthrogram to investigate possible rotator cuff tear.
Just washing down my ibuprofen with a glass of Peroni.

Yikes, hope that works out ok - I would keep using the ibuprofen peroni !! I went looking for why my rear washer doesn't work - fuses, relays all working fine, and i used a sewing needle to clear washer jet but no joy. - so I guess I will have to remove the tailgate cover and see what awaits me inside there. Same problem as oilit. Fronts fine. No spray for the back window.
2021 will be a year of maintenance. Last edited by Georgeandkira; Feb 21st, 2021 at 22:58. |
