Volvo UK of course may be different or the dealership will not be knobs like Leeds Mercedes. In addition the law change in 2015 is better too.
The fact is though you have to formerly reject before thing can move on. If it is financed the last poster is right, the issue is with them and that could be a good route.

Thanks for everyone's input. I financed it myself so there are no other parties involved.

It's interesting that so many of you have been following this thread (over 7,000 views!). Perhaps it suggests that many people remain concerned about the whole car buying experience and that it's an area that manufacturers and dealers need to improve.

Hope it gets sorted quickly for you now. I can only imagine what it is like to have waited so long for the car and then be in a position where you may have to reject it.

I am watching closely as mine is due soon. This is a big outlay for a car and it will depreciate by about £10k a year initially. In itself that is enough but to then be unsatisfied and have a bad experience is real bad news.
Swapping cars every couple of years at this price is not an option, so it needs to last. It is also important to be able to enjoy the experience as this is not an A to B car as it is being sold and priced as a Luxury SUV. On that basis the build quality, reliability, dealer experience and Volvo experience should reflect that.

Totally agree. Having spent so much you wouldn't want much hassle post purchase.

Curious about the 'peace of mind period' i dropped a note to my dealer and this is the response

There isn't a specific cooling off period, however if there is a fault with the vehicle you have the first 3 months to make the dealer aware and do have rejection rights. This will in be listed in the Citizens Advice Bureau.

If there are any issues with the car at all, we will always be more than happy to help to get this resolved as you are one of our valued customers.

Doesn't give too much information though!

Returns / exchange policy of primark or GAP store is more clearer than this.

If you buy the car over the phone or internet, do the distance selling laws come in as well, that you can return with 14 days for a full refund.

I bought an ex-demonstrator V50 a few years back for my wife over the telephone.

They did not want any money until I arrived at the showroom as they were concerned about the Distant Selling regulations.

Yes, but if you put a deposit on over the phone then I would think it comes under those regulations.

They would not take a deposit!! Paid the whole amount on a debit card when we were there.
