I've just come back from a car-journey to Gothenburg in the Amazon, and can highly recommend Bremen as an overnight stop. The Ibis Centrum is quite central, has secured parking, and the town is nice to visit. Quite a hike from UK in one day (I took longer, stopping in Amsterdam as well).

The Puttgarten-Rodby crossing is taking longer than you might think; on the way there I waited an hour, and the way back an hour and a half, with long queues on the approch road.

For those of you who want to test your speed there are only a few stretches of autobahn that are unrestricted, one is part of the run to Putty, a nice straight bit, and good for 'tonning' the Amazon, if you want to (the face of one shocked BMW driver will stay with me forever!).

The museum is good, a few Amazons, more PVs, Philip, police-cars etc.

Hi,

Bremen to Hamburg is a 70 mile journey, closer to the Uk than Gothenburg or Olofström..
Might work... Thanks for the tip..

Will be heading back, well to, Berlin and Munich...

Hi,

Quick update for you..

Have now arrived in Berlin for a couple of days.
Journey from Sweden was about 570 miles!
Have totalled, on journey finish last night 2430 miles.
The V90 has now clocked over the 150k miles too so will be added to the high Mileage Club later..
Tried a "Quick Dash" on the A24 Berlin road last night..
Got to 125 a couple of times.. On the SatNav..
Not good though as Germans have a habit of pulling out to overtake in front of you!!!
Especially not good on a two lane Autobahn!!!

The last day of the VROM was much the same as Saturday so I spent it in the Museum..

Now off to enjoy some of Berlin..

Hi,

Just a minor update for you...

Have been resting in Munchen, not far from Ingolstadt. Will be visiting the Audi Museum as it is not far away.. Woops!!

Have traveled, so far 2851 miles..
Have just calculated my fuel useage, Ouch!!!
So far have bought 473.5 ltrs of petrol. Mostly V-power or 98 RON fuel..
That equates to an average of about 27.4 mpg so far.
Now, considering that much was on motorways, and averaging between 70 and 80 (depending on area.. thank you Mr policeman!!) and also included my 130 dash and 125 dash as well as 90 mph average in Germany on the return leg to Berlin and Berlin to here, I think that is a reasonable mpg figure...

Shame it has cost about £450 quid... B-I-G ouch!!

I have been going through the photos and am in the process of resizing them.
I will start a new topic, maybe for the photos as there are a few of them..
