Well today woke at 5am... Girlfriend went off to feed and water the animals at her friends animal sanctuary with her daughter some hours later I get a call to go get goats milk as there are some poorly 4week old kittens the mother has stopped feeding and they are bringing them home to home rear then I get a call her car won't start so I had to go collect the kittens and the humans then we settle down to watch the F1 disappointing yet again for a McLaren fan so then off to Halfords for a new battery for her car then eventually home again now checking kittens on an hourly basis playing on the wii looking forward to bed, and trying to decide should I go shooting in the morning or not.... Just shooting paper at 300 and 600 yds

Just .303 and .308 tempted by a .338 or maybe even a 50cal but they can only be used at 3 ranges in the country...

Car has had a desperately needed wash. Had a tail light blow, so promptly went to Halfords, got the trade card out and bought an entire rear ends worth of bulbs and replaced the lot. Found a few different brands in there taking them out so nice to now have everything new and matching, helps my minor OCD.

In the process I also discovered my S60 has marker lights on the side of the rear clusters. I've had the car nearly 3 years now, the bulbs were obviously blown when I bought the thing and I never knew they were there!

My S60 (2005 facelift) has the US-style side markers on all 4 corners but only 1 rear one works. It was like that when I bought it a couple of months ago. Must not be an MOT fail, even though I understood it as being "all bulbs must work if fitted". I don't think I'll bother to replace them as they don't bring anything to the party. The headlights are also a pain to take out.

Spent an hour or so yesterday trying to improve the shine on mine - it's true what everyone says, you can't get a deep polish on a silver car!

We've all been there. Not mounted a curb at the time mind.

Booked car in for some preventative maintenance (aux belt and pulleys). Also looking at some new front tyres for the autumn that's looming...

Default 133k oil change

Treat the D5 to a filter and some fresh engine oil.

Got most of the old stuff over the drive as it came out of the sump quicker than my catch can could take it. Then got the rest down my arm trying to slow the flow!
