What a bummer NVNut! You must be gutted. Best of luck getting it sorted in a 'hassle-free' manner

Well. got it moved today and got the V40 out, done a bit of brain storming with my Da, and drew the conclusion there really isn't much to do, any damage that can be done, has been done already, so there is a thaw due next week, if the roads improve, we'll tow it down to the father in laws place.

Many thanks for your sympathys and advice in the meantime, I'll let you all know how i get on

I am truely gutted its happened, and very annoyed with myself for letting it happen

Setting fire to it with the heater will certainly thaw it..... thats if you don't cause a fire by shorting the battery first. Ho hum

Thats annoying mate. I had a solid 360 a number of years ago but was scrapping it anyway. Tried to turn it over but it was definitely stiff, so starting not recommended.

My spare 940 turbo (donor for the 360 project) was also starting to freeze this week even though we are a bit warmer here near the sea (maybe), slush puppy in the pipes but some liquid water. I removed the air filter box and put in a 1.5kW fan heater and left it for about 6 hours with the bonnet down. It got thawed out ok while outside, no problems with overheating the rubbers or anything.

Everyone really needs to check their anti-freeze, usual temps here you can nearly get away without it (apart from corrosion), but -15 it needs to be up to spec (usually less than 2 years old) and the right concentration.

Best of luck - I hope it's OK for you.

The weather forecast last night was talking about a brief thaw, so move quickly when you get the chance!

Keeping fingers crossed here!
