iOS 11 & CarPlay problems - Page 3

Hi Folks, I downloaded IOS 11.2.1 on my Iphone yesterday and I appeared to loose Appleplay on my new XC60 this morning. I tried the less technical solution first of switching my Iphone off and unplugged it from the car then switched it back on and reconnected. Result Appleplay fully restored without having to do anything further. May be worth a try before you go down the factory reset route. Merry Xmas

Sorry to bump this but thought it would be better asking in here rather than a new thread.

What's the general consensus re: carplay? Worthwhile or not? I see a couple say no.

I currently have it in my car because I decided to get this over sat nav. Its done a job but not without numerous issues. Siri never understands what I say, it won't connect sometimes, I hate Apple Maps. Regularly it will work, I'll get out of the car, get back in and it won't connect. It drives me insane. BUT as I say it has done a job.

I'm going to lease mine so seeing a separate charge per month for it makes me thing forget it, can live without it and I'll order front sensors or something. But would I miss it if I've had it?

Been pretty disappointed with its lack of functionality and development to be honest. My main use is playing Spotify from my iphone through it as it gives good quality audio with the direct connection.
I was hoping Volvo were going to integrate this onto the central driver display to use things like google maps but not going to hold my breath on that one after almost 18 months with nothing. I feel is has been so far a missed opportunity.

Thanks neon. Think I'll skip then to be honest as I've just this past week cancelled my spotify subscription as it is. I only really use Overcast podcasts anyway although have Apple Music subscription for 6 months but bluetooth should suffice.
