Here are 2 more pictures & what I think after first 500 kms;
LIKES: Excellent driving position, excellent seats. Very silent atmosphere. Gear changes of powershift is very smooth. Rear seats have more than enough leg room. Handling is much better than I expected. Car is well balanced between being sport and comfortable. Premium sound is great with lossless material after a little setup. (lower bass on main speakers and leave the job to subwoofer) Try this song on your system "Crowdpleaser & Ly Sander - Walking Home" 20 inch rims are much more comfortable than I expected and auto lowering side mirror helps to avoid scratches on the rims. Front park assist is a must, I feel like I'm already on top of the trunk of the car infront of me while PDC says I'can go further. Hillhold, BLIS, sunroof, heated seats are nice. Keyless go is superb as long as you don't forget to leave the key to valet parking. Integrated bluetooth is a very nice feature although it took some time to connect my BB 8900. Have an option to lower only center part of rear seat is a good option, you can lay 4 snowboards on the center and stil have room for 2 people. DISLIKES: Consumption doubles 2lt diesel engines. Steering wheel is a little hard. Hazard warning flasher switch on the centre console is made of very cheesy material, doesn't suits the rest of the car. Even the gear knob is in manual mode and gear number appears on the screen insted of 'D', I couldn't find a way to shift down gears manually (4 to 3 and to 2) as i frequently do on wifes passat DSG. Since I couldn't reduce speed with engine, I need step on the brakes to reduce speed and I don't like it. Passenger and driver side's tempratures have to be set individually. I wish i could control both sides with one switch as I do in my c30 or Passat. |

Some good points Tolga, most of which I agree with. Not sure about the changing down issue, as this seems to work fine on my geartronic box when in Manual mode.
I was particularly interested in your comment on the hardness of the steering wheel. Whilst a small issue, and in no way affecting my enjoyment of the car, it has also crossed my mind that the wheel is quite firm to the touch. I also agree with your point regarding temp control. In my old CRV, the the temperature knob on the drivers side controlled both sides of the cabin unless/until the passenger side knob was turned at which time the heating of the two sides became independant of each other. My other car is a BMW which is similarn to the Volvo in this regard, and does seem to miss a trick for me. Anyway, glad you're enjoying the car!

I think Tolgas car is the new Powershift petrol unit, not the geartronic though!

Bob, you're absolutely right about the non-intuitive gear change direction on the geartronic box! Pushing forward on the lever as you accelerate through the gears (hence being pushed back into the seat as it were) makes no sense and is certainly not how the original sequential gear boxes were designed. Interestingly I was discussing this with my brother just the other day, and he reckons BMW is the only major car maker he knows of who do this the 'right' way so to speak.
