The main benefit of the poly bush on the T5 is it provides a much more soild link between the engine and the bulkhead. This means much more engine noise gets transmitted into the cabin, which is excellent if you have an engine which sounds as good as the T5 does. Also the standard rubber bushes tend to fail regularly whereas the polybush will most likely outlast the car
The benefits of replacing a knackered mount will include a smoother drivetrain with less "shunt" as the engine can't move as much. Also if you are driving with a worn/split top mount the extra engine movement will be wearing out the other engine mounts which are harder to get to and therefore more expensive to replace. Cheers, John |

Thanks for the advice , didnt realise this was so important and will get a new mount asap , especially dont like the idea of the other more expensive mounts wearing out as a consequence , as mine is a D5 the extra engine noise might not be nice its loud enough already , but reading the claim made on the link you kindly provided they also claim one of the polybush benefits being reduced tyre wear , never in a million years would I have imagined the top engine bush being able to help the tyres last longer but I suppose everything works together as a system .

I'll be doing this upgrade shortly, seems to have so many benefits for a relatively cheap part

Just wanted to say that the 850 looks like a very straight car and that it serves you well, enjoy!

Funnily enough I took a nay saying mate out for a run yesterday. Afterwards he looked at his 150 TDI VW Bora, which he thought was quick, in a different way.

I've noticed the bush is looking pretty knackered on my S70 2.5D
Is the same part suitable for that or is it a different one? Cheers Pete
