Some pictures of the finished prototype. Just took the car out to check nothing catches. What a difference it's made! And I'm not just saying that to sell some! Turns in a hell of a lot better. Front end feels absolutely solid now. Honestly can't believe how much it's killed the understeer. And my cars got standard wheels and tyres and suspension apart from chopped springs. So I can imagine if u have decent suspension and wheels it would make even more of a difference.

U can have the tri bars on the bottom of the plates (look at the earlier photos when I was mocking it up with mole grips) which gives 14mm more clearance to the engine. Cr member plate and lugs being 6mm and the bars 8mm. There's no way your sump would be that low. I know nothing about the diesels, I havnt even seen in person a 940 Diesel engine. Are the engines not (block wise) similar to the red block? What u could do is take your crossmember plate off and get something long and straight and stick it flat against the bottom of the crossmember, then measure the distance between it and the lowest part of the sump. I could work out from that how much room u have. But as I said having the bars on the bottom of the plates should definitely work. Highly doubt the diesel sump sits below the cross member. In that case, have a look under the car from the front, on level ground and see if u can see the sump sticking out below the crossmember.

I will try and get a photo of the underside of a car and see what you think.

Yeh get a few from different positions. If u already have the car jacked up it's only 3 little bolts to whip off the x member plate. Then just use out uve got! That's straight. A couple of photos of that held in place would be good
