Hi

Looking at the options, there are plenty of discreet screens (inc ones that tilt) available in the viable size range.

The screens I have seen with integral DVD players all are sold with their own headrests and are very unlikley to be retrofitable into an XC headrest. I was in TCR last week and looked at a few, hence my view.

SO - options are - replace complete headrests with after market ones VERY cheaply.. with dvd and built in games etc for much cheapness - OR - fit discreet screens into volvo headrests and use separate dvd (whatever) player.

Not sure if anyone has given it any thought - but to play the media I am going to use a flash memory media player and rip my dvds to the memory card - there are *plenty* of small media players for £20 that are remote and fit the bill - and are very small hence easily mountable in the centre console - so next to no wiring.

Well... not finished the "study" but they need to be slimline like the Alpine ones...

When looking around, fitting aftermarket combined dvd/games/screens are excellent value really... and zero hassle to fit..

Ok...fell at the second fence...

is there an EASY way to run the wires from the headrest through the seat back without taking the backrest to bits?

I tried to fish the wires down but its not looking possible without a major upholstery job...which I dont believe is right...there must be an easy way!

Any advice appreciated.

David

David, please send me a PM with your email address, I have a pdf with the installation instructions for the RSE unit, which also describes how to run the cables through the seats.
The file is too big for the forum to accept as attachment...
