What a joke. Volvo forces dealers to buy his software which in turns find they have to rip customers off.

Welcome to the stupid world of motor company run by bean counters.

Volvo should make money selling great products, not try to sell software to its dealers. Puts me off buying another Volvo as second car.

Does anyone now if the Stealershipp can turn the headlights off but still keep the side lights on during normal daylight running?

You can do that yourself by turning the light switch to the mid position I think. Although I really don't see the point myself. :-/

Then the lights stay on when the ignition is off. This is not what I want.

Side lights (parking lights) are pointless when driving as they are as good as invisible from the front. They really only are for parking. Better off with the DRL setup you have.

I've replaced them with 5000K LEDs so they can be seen

So can anyone please tell me if it's possible to turn off the headlights from DRL and leave the side lights on?

Im just wondering if its really worth the potential aggrovation, especially if someone pulls out in front of you, you hit them, and they are seriously hurt. If it is then deemed that your insurance is invalid, surely youre screwed?

Just a thought....
do you seriously think having your headlights on will stop some idot pulling out in front of you i doubt it!
