Don't worry, it won't be long before I'm back on the road in the old girl again. I may have stronger conrods this time too as it's looking as though I've bent a rod

Ahhh, so she's overboosted - will probably be a rod then. No wonder she was going like the clappers!

I think I've found the problem - you were spot on straight away with the boost control solenoid. The bottom pipe, shown yellow on Pedro's pic, had been missed and was not connected. Very odd though that no lights came up on the dash - not even the engine management light when she misfired.

She isn't mapped or chipped but she does have an S W Autos tune.

it probably missfired in an attempt to save the engine.....

if your gauge only went 3/4's then maybe its not working right????

lights wont come on in this situation.... the boost control solinoid was doing its job electrically, just not manually!

it does answer one of bb54's questions tho..... rods will bend with a standard map!

because they dont.... red pipe runs to the inlet manifold to open the recirculating valve to release boost pressure

blue pipe runs to intake pipe....

if yours are connected together it would explain why your turbo is chattering
