Just when you can.
I've paid for 10 out of my pocket rather than wait for group buy numbers to come in. They are being made as we speak. Once I have them they will be available exclusively on this forum only at £130 delivered for one week only. |

Hi lads.
Apologies for putting my £0.50 here but in my opinion this shortshifter is overpriced. My brother makes them to fit almost every type of volvo gearbox (and not only) and prices are as follows: - hand made SS made from scrath - total hi end- totally plug and play (without a knob) cost with p&p £190. Its a 2 week awaiting time for it. - SS made using a standard gear stick - so just altered width of oryginal one costs £70. -SS made using bearing of oryginall gear stick but redesigned top part ( without a knob) with p&p costs £100. They can be made to order at any time of the day or night. There is no duty to pay as posted from UK. Brother is a qualified technician making tons of different hand made high performance parts. If anyone is intrested I can supply pics of things which I've just described and list them on ebay. One more time sincere apologies for my remark, but I can't think its wright to pay such money for a part as on pic on first page. Regards |

What you are charging £190 is being sold here for £130. How is charging an extra £60 appealing to anyone?
The shifter I have sourced is provided with new high end bearings, adjustable throw and is a tried and tested product by people all over the world. It also uses the standard leather boot and knob to maintain the factory look. The shifter is made from scratch using quality materials. It is NOT a modified stock shifter. I do appreciate you trying to help people out by offering alternative products at alternative prices but this isn't the place to do it. I've made a massive outlay to purchase 10 of these shifters, the only way I can get my money back is to sell these on. Trying to undercut me or knock the product being offered is not appreciated. If you do have something to offer for sale, feel free to offer it for sale in your own for sale post. If you feel the need to reply, please do so by private message or start your own thread. This is a group buy thread for potential buyers to discuss this product. |

This is the update I have just received from John:
Hey, sorry for the late reply, I had to jump on a last minute flight across the country and I've been here for a week without much computer time. My wife was able to ship your shifters last monday the 19th, although she unfortunately chose surface shipping (usually by boat). I've done that before to the UK and the packages usually show up in 4-6 weeks or so. I'm so sorry about that! If I had shipped them myself I definitely would have sent them by airmail. She shipped it using Canada Post, which is what I would have used too, and they don't offer tracking numbers. Again, so sorry that you'll have to wait much longer than anticipated, but it's too late to do anything about that. Please do let me know when you receive them. Cheers! John Grimsmo |

Still no sign of the shifters - I think that's 3 weeks since they were sent out.
Here's hoping they arrive next week |

Don't panic, he's not a scammer or anything! I ordered some plug wires from John and I thought I'd save a few pennies and opted for surface shipping... it took 2 months to get here...

S'alright, I'm not worried. I know John's a great guy, and sea shipping does take time. I think we're at about 5 weeks now, so they could come in at any time, really. I'm sure we'll know the minute they arrive.

I have just received this update from John
Hi Mark, good to hear from you, sorry I have not been in very good communication lately. Here is what has happened in the last 5 weeks. I finished them when I told you I did, had to leave on a trip so I had my wife send them, she accidentally chose surface mail. The trip ended up dragging on for 4 weeks, so when I came home last wednesday I found the package had been returned! Something stupid about incorrect labeling. Turns out that somewhere along the line someone slapped an airmail sticker on it, even though the postage paid was only for surface, so it got sent back. Argh. So I took it right to the post office and they helped straighten me out, I paid more for airmail shipping and now it is on it's way, shipped on the 19th. Below is a tracking number. www.canadapost.ca ee137018807ca I am so sorry that this has been such a hassle, I really wish it could have gone smoother and faster. You should hopefully have them any day now. John |
