Default Warning - Bryn Motor Company ...

Folks

I went to Bryn Motor Co, Wigan (M6 J25) on Friday to ask about the cost of fitting a pair of front wishbones on a V70 D5.

Paul at BMC quoted me £45 plus VAT per side, which I thought was a bit steep for 45 mins labour only (His estimate, not mine).

I asked 'So that would include all new stretch bolts' - No, we never change the sretch bolts - no need to, never had a problem.
I won't be going there again.

So, boys and girls, there is an alleged Volvo specialist who believe it is fine to re-use the old stretch bolts.

If you have had wishbones replaced at Bryn Motors, or any other job requiring stretch bolts, you may wish to check your invoice !

Thumbs up

Having been a customer of Bryn Motor Company for more than 15 years I have to say that I have never had any reason to doubt the ability or honesty of Paul or Fred or in fact anyone who works at B.M.C.
As regards the "stretch bolts" in question as far as I know Volvo dont use these on the suspension.
I have only praise for B.M.C and highly recommend them.

No experience with said garages but I can confirm that the Volvo S60/V70 definately uses "stretch bolts" on the front wishbones, I bought mine from Rufe in Swansea under his recommendation whilst ordering the wishbones and they were fitted by Norden Motor Company in Rochdale.

i know this is an old thread but I thought i would mention to avoid woodside motors in platt bridge, they have a good reputation for servicing but anything more difficult than an oil change seems to be beyond them.
Had my car for weeks without repairing it, zero customer service and just didnt seem interested in repairing it, fobbed me off everytime i rang them.
Ive since used bryn motor company in wigan, which have been excellent, friendly and reliable. great service.
