I just had my roof swapped, ecu does not need to be swapped, took hour and 20 minutes to swap including a tea break. Guy I went to is name is Paul from Midlands area. Is a 2 man job due to weight and how you need to swap. 6 bolts hold entire roof in, and loads of cable clips.

Just an update on this.

I have revisited the scrappie a couple of times now, and studied the instructions and my own car (but without removing my own roof yet).

I was not sure how to overcome the 2 man lift requirement, and also how to transport because a complete roof assembly seems too big to fit in the back of my V70.

At the scrappie I have opened the rear roof manually (using an allen key on an electric screwdriver)

But the showstopper is that someone else has removed the motor/gearbox assembly at the front, above the rear view mirror, so I can no longer manually disengage the front latches.

Other bits such as the control module have also gone, and various wires have been cut, so I am becoming less confident that this is worth doing.

Oh well, I learned a few things along the way.

Steve
