Am I right in guessing that your engine cover bracket has snapped?

A few months ago I had horrendous rattles from the engine bay which, when I investigated, turned out to be the aforesaid bracket which had apparently snapped, come loose from the cover, and the broken bit disappeared!

If so I'm relieved I'm not the only one this has happened to!

John
No didn't snap, just didn't have any apart from those on the inlet manifold, some previous mechanic would have taken them off probably for doing pump timing/replacing alternator and never returned them.
Engine cover is held tightly in place by the two inlet manifold studs so not really an issue.

For one of those to snap, must have been something else going on

So, I'm breaking the old car.
All parts are REALLY, REALLY cheap! I just want to get something back before I weigh it in.

e.g. set of injectors £20
injection pump £20
Starter motor £10
Aircon pump £10
turbo £20

any other bits, just ask (if the bit you want is a bugger to get off or involves lots of laying under the car there might be a bit of a premium on price).

The car has to be gone by the end of the week, but I'm willing to take off parts and keep them aside for you.

I'm located in Cambridgeshire PE16 if you want to collect anything

Regards
Richard
Three friends and I are using an auto TDI V70 for a charity drive in May.

What is the very best price you could do us a breather unit (the one on top of the cam cover) and the main reinforced rubber induction hose to the right hand side of the engine bay?

Kind regards,

Foeux

The breather is cracked so I doubt you want it. The hose you can have for the postage - do you mean the metal pipe from the intercooler to the inlet manifold?

bonnet, possibly both wings, boot door probably.
Mine aren't awful, and you're a 3 1/2 hour drive away so would have to make it worthwhile!
