I will report back when I try it if it works but i am going to check the DSA module now to see if connected properly etc...
Yes, what is in the owners manual about adaption is the same as in VADIS......

VADIS is better than VIDA because it concentrates on up to 2005 X40 so there is more in it than VIDA which goes up to the late cars......VIDA does miss out a lot of info as Volvo think old cars no longer exist...Lol

Your ABS will be ok otherwise you will have a light up!

From memory i believe the DSA box was down on the passenger side (righthand drive) behind that upright piece of cover in front of the door that is on the left of the glovebox?........Vadis says Right Hand Side but i do think it`s on the other side....you will have to check boths sides!

That is where I have been looking, I cannot find it or any wiring plug in case it has been removed. All I can find there is the ultra sonic box for the alarm sensors. I will try and trace the wiring from the switch but that will go into the loom but will try and see where it goes. The ABS light comes on at first start up as it should and goes off again and I know it works... indeed I do.

Just seen your images as to where it is, perhaps I missed it as it looks tucked up out the way. Will check again so thanks for that.

960kg description is spot on. I removed mine a few weeks ago, wish I took pictures.

You can only make out the bottom of the module but you should be able to see a chunky wire going to it. The picture in VIDA showed as if it is secured at the top with a screw. I thought I'd have to take out the dash as there was no way to get to that top screw. Unfortunately the diagram wasn't 100% accurate. You take out the bottom screw and you can pull the module out. It's secured by a tab at the top.

I also found the alarm ultrasonic box first before the DSA.

Good luck!

DOH! Yes of course it was there. I was looking for the actual module but as you said, you cannot see it, only the bottom and the bolt that holds the bracket. All was clear when I saw the diagram.
Anyway I took out that bolt and tried as hard as i could to get the module out it would not move. It went side to side but would not pull down. Not a big issue as I wanted to check the wiring plug that I could get to and it was plugged in and all seems OK. When I unplugged the unit the light went off on the dash as expected so it does either need re setting or the module may be faulty so at least I have narrowed it down a bit more now. Thanks for your input guys, much appreciated. Will have a good read of you last post photos 960kg later. Cheers.

OK well I tried the reset procedure but unfortunately no joy so I can only assume the DSA unit itself is faulty? I will get a second hand one to try. The DSA light does the same, comes on when ignition comes on and stays lit no matter what, even when cranking it to start.

Yes seen all of those, have asked a couple of breakers on eBay. If the part number is the same then it will be OK.
