Thanks - Typed out then can't send until 30 posts still haha!
Hi, Thanks for that - and yes I did see that your location is Scotland after I messaged so not the closest! Yes this part of the world isn't too bad at all My worry over tow bar mounted racks are the loss of BLISS etc when driving which I find very useful, but getting bikes onto the roof will be harder. But the Thule I was looking at is a 3 bike rack with a separate extension piece for when our daughter (6 months old) gets a bike - sounds like what you're recommending - so thank you. All the best, |

Just wanted to check if anyone with a xc90 t8 retractable towbar, has used the Thule 3+1 bike carrier and had any problems?
As another member mentioned previously, in my owners manual MY20 it states max bike carrier weight with bikes is 75kg with 3 bikes at most. It then mentions elsewhere the tow weight limit of 110kg , so I’m wondering why the difference in weights? I have the velocompact Thule bike rack that I used on my previous disco sport and I’d be reluctant to now have to purchase a roof carrier also to carry 4 bikes. |

The bike carrier I have at home is a Volvo-branded Thule 3+1 model, so I'd be amazed if they don't deem this suitable for use with their vehicles. I had an S80 when the dealer sold it to me, so can't see why it would be suitable for that and not for a bigger car...?
