You don't need to worry about this with a PPC. You plug it in and press a button and 10mins later it's 'tuned'. Then if you want / need to you repeat the process to return it to stock.

PPC does tie itself to the car though, once it's been used on a car it can never be 'unlocked' and used on another car.

I believe the ECUs are tied to a car, you can't just get another one and plug it in. I think it's a volvo job with software downloads and the like.

The ease to programme / reprogramme the chip with the PPC is what is drawing me to that one, but there are more than once supplier. They use the same hardware buy have different maps. Main ones (on the PPC route) are RICA (310bhp - v70 t5) and BSR (299 bhp - same car). As mentioned in the thread there is also MTE (slightly different route, more diagnoistic) plus at least two others I think.

I've had my 2001 2.4T V70 BSR moded for about a year now and it's fantastic. I could not believe the power difference. It's covered a few thousand miles with no problems whatsoever. Just wish I had 4 wheel drive!

Wot, like this one you mean? Dyno Graph

Tony

That's a Stage 1 graph, I've not been on a dyno with Stage 2 yet.
