the system is shown on the "matthews volvo site" diagram i pm'd you, in the bottom right corner... i have no idea whether or not you will have a vacuum controlled one or a ecu controlled one.... i do have some info and pics of the valve and canister but they are at home and im not there till saturday...i will have a scout thro iggy' posts, he is the man in the know on this stuff.... according to the wiring diagram i have seen there should only be one yellow and violet wire and one yellow and brown one going to sockets 4 and 2 respectively...although you seem to be getting some results....as a tester why not run the engine and remove the maf sensor.....this will trigger a code 1-2-1 and you can check that it is working ok...to remove the code either follow the instructions from bay 13....http://www.volvospeed.com/CheckEngine.php or remove the ecu overnight..... laters jod

hi jod (sorry to be a pain in the rear)me and my mate went for a spin in it and he says you can feel the turbo come in and boost but it sounds like its hissing like a leaky hose ive double checked all the boost hoses and carnt seem to find any leaks any ideas what else to check ,
ive checked clips/boost pipes/and found no oily crack are leaks as yet? a small engine runing video here seems fine here until i start booting it then the bugger seems to hold back unless its me exspecting more bhp lol View My Video Last edited by powernut; Nov 2nd, 2006 at 11:52. |

right jod may have found something?
i coupled the boost gauge up and removed the wastepipe to see if there was any differance ,yes there was a increase but the gauge reading was still low ,so im thinking evern thow the turbo dosent smoke it dose have spindle were and it dosent boost to 1,0barr ,the reason why i think it was when a oil pipe blow and the opil light was on for 8mins driveing ,,(as i thought it was a alti light ,i noticed the top end of the engine started to top and switched the engine off ?everything seemed fine when the pipe was repaird but now the turbo boost has dropped im thinking ,maybe has damaged the turbo?the boost control soloid is working 2.all bloody this what a stressfull day lol,so this maybe the answer? |

which wastepipe are you refering to....not the bcs to wastegate?? there will be a hissing noise, it will be the wasted boost pressure being bled by the bcs back into the turbo inlet pipe.... sure a lack of oil lubrication is one sure fire way of buggering up your turbo but without pulling it off and testing it im not sure how you can see.... what and how are you planning to deal with this.... i think when wayne is back we should arrange a little weekend up in sunny donny.... cheers jod

jod we have more power inporvement?due to a trapped fuel pipe?dam pipe so ive replaced both complete pipes from the tank to the engine it dose boost go better ,and i think its probley the best im going to get power wise from my t5 lump ,reachers the mark after the o.5 ?when i trhen tryed it with the waste gate pipe removed it pops when trying to accelerate i ive re fitted it and left it as is ,but it dosent wheele spin going though the gears i think this maybe because of the weight and rwd?,any advise u can give off change would be great, im happyer now but would be really happy if it went like some ive seen on this forium lol
