Except barry boys is for chav cars that have been ruined where as a decent set of wheels and well executed air suspension is far from barry.
Can definitely see people on here are against air suspension and don't seem to understand that it is down in the advert, it will lift up to a sensible height for driving around in if it was static then yes it would be stupid. |

I understand the air suspension principle alright - just personally don't see the attraction of the car ever sitting that low? To me, it makes the proportions all wrong...
But a firm believer in each to their own! David

Personally, I have the up most respect for the engineering behind that 480.
Also, it's another that's been saved from the crusher! I'm not even going to rise to the fact that because myself and 360beast should like Barryboys because we like this 480. That's an insult as far as I'm concerned. It's attitudes like that that resulted in my not using VOC forums anywhere near as much as I used to. I don't post in projects any more for a start. How dare I modify my cars from standard spec, make them faster, more responsive, not handle like a boat, and stop better. Heaven forbid. Done.

I wonder if Kev would consider my 360 barry because it has 15" wheels, wide tyres and straight piped. I best don my baseball cap and go collect my benefits. I have also stopped posting on my project thread as nobody seemed interested in a full restoration. If it was a 2/7/900 series and I washed it and replaced a few bits of broken trim it would get hundreds of replies though. Last edited by 360beast; Oct 1st, 2016 at 18:59. |

Lol, maybe!
Same here. Nobody seemed the slightest bit interested in any of mine either. Perhaps I should buy a caravan and see how quickly 300 horses can get it up the 1/4 mile instead.

10-15 years ago I really wanted to build my own Turbo Brick, using as many Volvo parts as possible - T5, M90 etc. I had the time and the garage but not enough money. Now I have the money but no time so I'm sad...
